My nephew's photos...
A few months ago my nieces and nephew came up from Florida to visit us here in Baltimore. My nephew Connor, age 14, took a surprising interest in film photography, particularly medium format TLRs. I lent him my Ricohflex and he took several good shots and figured out exposure, focus and all of that amazingly quickly. So I had an old TLR sitting around (a USC Auto Forty) and an extra selenium meter...

Snow days...
I got the fun surprise to learn, very early this morning, that I had a snow day today. With a whole day to take it easy, I got inspired to go out before the sunrise and take some black and white medium format shots of the snow, before it got stepped on too much. It was a pretty good deal (perhaps too good… it was about 10 to 15% cheaper than other M4s I had seen in the same condition), but I looked at the seller’s feedback...

The Slow-Photography Movement →
My wife sent me this article… I’ve read a lot about the return to analog cameras and the popularity of “lomography,” but I like how the author here describes the importance of process when taking pictures and how that enhances the whole experience. Of course the end product is definitely important to me, but one of the things I really love about taking pictures is just...
